STORYLINE:
The China Cultural Center in Amman, Jordan, hosted a Lantern Festival celebration on Wednesday to mark the end of the Chinese Spring Festival. The event featured cultural exchanges and traditional performances.
Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Chen Chuandong said that the Spring Festival is China's most important traditional holiday. Chen noted that the Lantern Festival marks the first full moon of the Chinese New Year and symbolizes renewal and the arrival of spring.
The ambassador highlighted the shared values of China and Jordan.

"The people of China and Jordan uphold peace, value tradition, cherish family, embrace openness and inclusivity, and respect cultural diversity. This is our shared heritage as Asian and Eastern civilizations."
Chen added that interest in Chinese language and culture is rising among Jordanian youth while appreciation for Arabic culture is growing in China.
The celebration featured Kung Fu performances, traditional folk music and dance, theatrical acts, and a raffle draw. It drew Jordanian public figures, academics, students studying Chinese, embassy officials, and members of the Chinese community.
