Elderly woman cooks goose egg using hot charcoal in China
On January 1, 2025, in Guizhou Province, located in southwestern China, a video captured an elderly woman dressed in traditional ethnic clothing preparing a unique dish using a large iron pot filled with hot charcoal.
She cracked a goose egg into the pot, allowing only the egg liquid to settle while covering it completely with the heated charcoal ash. After about 20 seconds, she retrieved the egg, held it directly in her hands, and began eating it.
The unusual cooking method left many Chinese netizens questioning whether consuming charcoal ash posed health risks. However, others pointed out that elderly individuals from such regions often live long and healthy lives, suggesting this method has been used for generations.
