Residents used to have a bridge between villages but a storm in Central Java destroyed it last year.
Footage shows a Honda scooter hanging from a cable and being pulled towards the other side in Petungkriono on February 11.
Onlooker Ahmad Syarifudin said: 'The motorbike looked like they were flying. We had to do this because we had no other choice when the bridge was broken.'
Floods and landslides devastated Central Java in the last week of January, causing widespread destruction and leaving dozens dead.
