This is the hilarious moment pet cats appeared to have a meowing match from across the street.

Two moggies were on a neighbour's roof while purring loudly to felines inside a house in Manila, the Philippines on January 31.

Footage shows the cats making high-pitch sounds to each other. The pairs of two made noise in the morning, catching the attention of residents.

Ivan Villafuerte who watched them from the window of his house said: 'I was chilling at home when I heard the catfight.

'I thought it was just an ordinary fight but it seemed to be a cat gang fight.'

Cats are territorial, and meowing loudly at each other can be a way of claiming space or warning an intruder.

This is common when a new cat enters the other's territory.
