A DPD driver was caught on camera jumping over a family's 7ft fence to deliver their parcel - rather than knocking on the front door.

Minjae and Joanna Kim, from Canterbury, Kent, were baffled when they spotted the courier in their fenced back garden.

They started recording the incident on their Ring Doorbell after seeing the man - and footage captures him jumping back over the fence.

Mrs Kim, 35, claims they had given DPD specific instructions to drop the important parcel - which contained insulin - at the front of the house.

DPD has since apologised for what happened.

Mrs Kim said: "It was so bizarre. We were both taken aback. Why not just knock on the door?"

"We have a five-year-old son - so if he was in our garden and someone's climbing in, it's quite scary."

"We don't want him to break our things either. It's an old wooden fence." "

After noticing the delivery driver, Mr Kim, 31, went outside to confront him.

He said that when he asked the courier to explained himself, he allegedly claimed that climbing into the garden was "easier" than ringing the doorbell or knocking on the door. "

The man then leaves the property with the parcel in hand.

Mr Kim, a trainee doctor, and Mrs Kim, a PA, believe the driver panicked when challenged and took the package away.

Mrs Kim added: "The package had medication inside, which my husband needed. "

"So we had to ring up the medical company and have it re-sent out."

DPD has apologised for the driver delivering the package to the rear of the house, rather than the front as requested.

Addressing the driver leaving the property with the parcel, the company claims the Kims asked the driver to fetch the parcel from the garden.

They deny this.

A DPD spokesperson added: "When the driver then asked if he could reprocess the delivery with a compliant security image at the front door, he was denied."

"It was returned to the sender, confirmed received by them the next day, and the recipient has since received a replacement."

The Kims say the courier did not ask if he could reprocess the delivery.

Police were contacted, but since the issue was considered trespassing, it is classed as a civil matter.
