Italy: Building Collapses Near Church in Valsamoggia, One Rescued from Rubble
Bazzano, Italy - February 13, 2025 A building near a church in Savigno, Valsamoggia, collapsed on Thursday, February 13, following what is believed to be an explosion caused by a gas leak. Firefighters and Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) teams are on-site, assisted by K9 units, searching through the debris. One person was successfully rescued from the rubble, conscious and alive, and was quickly transported to a nearby hospital. Rescue operations continue as teams work to ensure no additional victims are trapped among the collapsed structure. Authorities have not confirmed the exact cause of the explosion, but investigations are underway.
