Barcelona, Spain - February 13, 2025 Guardia Civil officers at Barcelona-El Prat Airport have seized more than 20,000 sildenafil pills in one of the largest confiscations of its kind in recent years. The haul, valued at nearly €100,000, was intercepted during a routine inspection. The passenger attempted to justify carrying the massive quantity by stating, “They are for personal use.” Authorities, however, were not convinced and seized the pills. Sildenafil, the active ingredient in erectile dysfunction medication, is regulated in Spain, and transporting such large quantities without authorization is considered a serious offense. The Guardia Civil has not disclosed further details about the passenger or potential legal consequences.
