Footage shows the carnage caused by flash floods along the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) in Los Flores, California, on Thursday, February 13.

Officials reported that an atmospheric river has caused a deluge of heavy rain to batter the region, which is still reeling from fires that ravaged homes.

Footage captured by Alexandra Datig across the road from the Duke’s restaurant shows the road covered in mud up to 10 inches thick. It blocked traffic in both directions.

The National Weather Service said rain continued on Friday but the worst conditions had subsided.
