Serbia: Serbian President Vucic accuses foreign powers of plotting government overthrow
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has accused foreign powers of attempting to overthrow the Serbian government and called for national unity to thwart such attempts. Speaking in an interview with a local media on Monday, Vucic said that foreign powers spent about three billion euros in the past 10 years to topple the Serbian government. The money was used to destroy Serbia's libertarian policy, achieve a regime change, and undermine the county's standing in international arena, according to the president. Vucic also said that opponents will never win, that's why they need to plot a color revolution. The president took the Trag Foundation, the one that was founded by a British, as an example, saying the organization received 28 million euros from foreign powers. According to media reports in Serbia, foreign donors, especially the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), have long been using the Trag Foundation as a tool to create political instability and exert pressure on Serbia. The reports said that, USAID is one of the largest donors to the foundation, and cooperation between the two started in 2013. The Trag Foundation has received at least 5.48 million U.S. dollars from USAID for making disruptions in Serbia. Vucic also said that as the country's growth took off, foreign powers increased their investments. SHOTLIST: FILE: Belgrade, Serbia - Date Unknown 1. Palace of Serbia; 2. National flags of Serbia; 3.
