Yemen - February 14, 2025 Mass protests erupted across Yemen on Friday in response to U.S. President Donald Trump's controversial plan to take control of Gaza and relocate Palestinians, with demonstrators expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people. Earlier, Trump proposed that the United States should take control of Gaza and that the Palestinians be relocated to neighboring Jordan and Egypt. Thousands gathered in a square in southern Sanaa, capital of Yemen, to voice their strong opposition. Houthi officials condemned Trump's comments, accusing him of arrogance and displaying American imperialism, asserting that his proposals would be met with widespread resistance and ultimately fail. Mohammed Al-Atifi, Yemen's Houthi Defense Minister, spoke at the rally, stating that Sanaa was prepared to target Israeli territories and U.S. and Israeli vessels in the Red Sea and other waters.
