Oakland, United States - February 15, 2025 At approximately 3am on 2/15/25 SLPD officers were investigating a theft at Walmart in San Leandro. During the investigation a vehicle struck a San Leandro PD Cruiser (no Injuries were sustained by the officer) and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit reached speeds of 80MPH at times on the freeway as the suspect led SLDP and CHP into Oakland and then onto Oakland streets. CHP was able to successfully deploy stop sticks and flatten the passenger side tires, slowing the pursuit to speeds of around 20-30mph. As the pursuit continued, stop sticks were deployed at least two more times, flattening the driver side tires. The pursuit continued at speeds between 5 & 20 mph, and onto the freeway. The suspect led law enforcement officers from multiple agencies on a slow speed pursuit from there for about 45 minutes before coming to an end on 40th St, near Shafter. The suspect spent some time fumbling in the car and ignoring officer orders, smoked a cigarette and then gave himself up. Footage includes SOT with SLPD Lt.
