Fire officials deployed four fire tenders after receiving distress calls around 9:55 p.m., with the injured rushed to Lok Nayak Hospital. The Railway Ministry has announced Rs 10 lakh compensation for the families of the deceased, Rs 2.5 lakh for those with grievous injuries, and Rs 1 lakh for minor injuries.
In an official statement, the Railways attributed the incident to an "unprecedented rush," where some passengers fainted, triggering panic and a stampede-like situation. Authorities have since eased congestion, bringing the situation under control.
