"The research in our center has had a real impact on communities. We focus on driving agricultural innovation using simple, affordable techniques to enhance food security."

SAJOREC, founded in 2013 at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, is Kenya's first comprehensive research institute supported by China.

SOUNDBITE 2 (English): ROBERT GITURU, African Director, Sino-Africa Joint Research Center
"Since the establishment of the Sino-Africa Joint Research Center, our center has put forward a series of joint research programs focusing on different areas of research. Indeed, our scientists have gone to the field and engaged in more than 70 joint field surveys.
The ultimate beneficiaries of research are out there in the community. I'm glad to say that as time goes by, we as a center are contributing in our own little way to building a China-Africa community with a shared future."
