Olympia, United States - February 14, 2025 A dangerous high-speed chase on snowy roads ended with a suspect pinned to a tree after multiple failed attempts to stop him. On the morning of Feb. 14, Olympia Police tried to pull over a white pickup truck, but the driver fled, leading deputies on a pursuit through Tumwater’s snow-covered streets. Despite multiple PIT maneuvers, the slippery conditions made stopping the vehicle difficult. As the suspect attempted to flee back toward Tumwater, deputies executed a final PIT maneuver, forcing the truck into a tree. For nearly an hour, the suspect refused to surrender, admitting he was under the influence and demanding to speak with the elected sheriff. Officers fired foam bullets and pepper balls into the truck with no effect. Finally, K9 Igo was deployed through a window, prompting the suspect to exit after assaulting the dog. The suspect was arrested for DUI, two counts of eluding, harming a police dog, and two counts of assault on law enforcement. One deputy and the suspect sustained minor injuries, and two patrol cars suffered damage.
