US, Phoenix: Tempe Impairment Suspected In Collision With DPS Vehicle

Phoenix, United States - February 15, 2025 02/15/2025 12:47 am (GMT-0700) TEMPE, Ariz. – According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS), the driver of a Toyota Tacoma struck a DPS patrol vehicle near the US-60 and Loop 101 interchange in Tempe around 12:47 am. The trooper was responding to an unrelated incident when the collision occurred. The Tacoma exited the freeway at Guadalupe Road. The adult male driver was taken into custody on suspicion of impairment following a series of field sobriety tests. Impairment is suspected but will not be confirmed until further tests have been completed.
