Tourists caused chaos by blocking traffic while fighting outside a bar in southern Thailand.

The two groups of holidaymakers, identified as Italians and Indians, were seen arguing on the sidewalk before throwing punches at each other on the island of Phuket.

Footage shows the men shouting at each other before the brawl ensued on January 27 evening. The tourists exchanged jabs before chasing each other amid traffic.

Their friends tried to separate them, with impatient local drivers sounding their horns, adding to the chaos.

An onlooker said: 'They left the area in separate directions after that. They should just fight each other to their deaths if they were so brave.'

Bouncers intervened, as well as concerned locals until they finally decided to leave.

Phuket has become one of Asia's most popular tourist destinations, but it has also attracted criminals and rowdy holidaymakers.

Furious locals have been blaming the Thai government's free visa policy for the influx of 'low-quality tourists' in the country. The scheme was implemented to boost income from Thailand's tourism industry.
