Phoenix, United States - February 16, 2025 02/16/2025 10:17 pm (GMT-0700) TEMPE, Ariz. – Tempe police officers and firefighters responded to the intersection of McClintock Drive and Eliot Road to reports of a two-vehicle traffic collision at 10:17 p.m. Sunday. Officers arrived and located two passenger cars that had collided in the intersection before crashing onto the sidewalk on the northwest corner of the intersection. Firefighters arrived and located several occupants sustaining various injuries. Preliminary information suggests that three people were rushed to the hospital in serious condition, while several additional patients were transported with non-life-threatening injuries. Tempe police officers conducted a field sobriety test on one of the drivers at a nearby gas station. The adult male driver was taken into custody on suspicion of impairment following a series of field sobriety tests. Impairment is suspected but will not be confirmed until further tests have been completed.
