Dramatic footage by Cal Fire reveals the intense efforts of firefighters battling the massive blaze from the air in Los Angeles, California, on January 21.

Authorities have deemed the fire the largest wildfire in the region, having scorched over 23,700 acres since it erupted on January 7 in the Pacific Palisades neighbourhood, killing at least 12 people.

Reports stated that the Palisades Fire was declared fully contained on January 31 after burning for 24 days.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
