Caught in farm fire, puppy pulled to safety
A swift-acting fire and rescue team rescued a helpless puppy, burnt in a fire that broke out in an empty compound, just in time.
The incident took place in the Kanjikode industrial area of Palakkad, Kerala, on February 9.
Visuals show a blaze engulfing dry crops in a deserted land, with a few dogs lying dead on the ground. As the rescue officials worked to douse the fire, they discovered a puppy in the bushes. They carefully removed it, washed it, gave it water, and took it to safety.
Speaking to Newslions, Fire and Rescue Officer Sandeep shared details about the rescue operation, stating that the firefighting team was led by Jayan and comprised five dedicated members: PK Pradeep, Sandeep S, Sudheesh, Nagadas, and Abdul Razak. The team worked tirelessly for nearly two hours to bring the fire under control and ensure it was completely extinguished. During their efforts, as they carefully inspected the affected area for any remaining flames or hazards, they discovered a frightened and injured puppy hiding in the bushes. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, they immediately rescued the puppy, providing it with water and initial care before ensuring it was taken to safety.
