Tehran, Iran - February 17, 2025 The "maximum pressure" campaign of the United States has never worked on Iran, and Iran will not negotiate with the U.S. under threat, said Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on Monday. Araghchi made the remarks at a press conference after his meeting with Sudan's Foreign Minister Ali Yousif Ahmed in Tehran. Iran's attitude toward the United States depends on the attitude of the United States toward Iran, and Iran will not negotiate with the United States under threat, said Araghchi, in responding to the U.S. recent restoration of the "maximum pressure" campaign, a tough policy on Iran that was practiced throughout Trump's first term. The Iranian side and the Sudanese side also jointly condemned the criminal acts committed by Israel against the Palestinian people, in particular the plan to forcibly deport the residents of Gaza.
