Residents have been experiencing severe winter conditions resulting in dangerous travel conditions across the city.
Footage captured by Tracey S Grote shows a snow-covered field on February 17.
The local weather forecast predicts that 15 to 25 cm of snow will fall by the end of Saturday, February 23.
Authorities have advised locals to stay indoors if necessary and avoid travelling on the roads.
Ontario Provincial Police reported nearly 200 collisions, and 150 vehicles stuck in the snow across the Greater Toronto Area and Hamilton in the last 24 hours. Officials urge residents to postpone non-essential travel as road conditions remain treacherous.
Approximately 65 per cent of Canada's landmass is covered in snow for more than six months of the year. Winter storms are common across the country and can include heavy snowfall, blizzards, blowing snow, freezing rain, ice storms, wind chills, and extreme cold temperatures.
