Hundreds of young people rush to grab the wooden ball in the unique "Phet" Robbery Festival in Vietnam

This unique festival is held every February 4th, hundreds of young people from Ban Gian commune, Lap Thach district, Vinh Phuc province in Vietnam rush to jostle and push each other, trampling on each other's backs to grab a "Phet" made of precious wood in the hope of receiving good luck for the whole year.

According to folk beliefs, the Phet symbolizes a battle, the young man of the village who grabs the Phet will win. Whoever touches the Phet will have good luck for the whole year.

To grab or touch the Phet is considered to bring good luck, many people do not hesitate to climb and trample each other.

Some years, people robbed until midnight and still could not find a winner. However, the festival does not care who grabs the Phet, just touching it is lucky.
