UAE: Israeli weapons displayed at Abu Dhabi defense fair
Storyline: Leading Israeli arms manufacturers are displaying their latest weapons at the 2025 International Defense Exhibition and Conference, which is held from Feb 17 to Feb 21 in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The event attracted 1,565 defense companies from 65 countries to show the latest defense technologies. Twenty-nine Israeli defense companies, including Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, Elbit Systems, are also participating in the event to present Israel's technological innovations and applications, consolidate partnerships, and further expand their arms sales in the Gulf region. IAI has brought an array of advanced air defense systems, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), satellite systems, naval combat suites, and a variety of sensors including radar, electro-optical and electronic warfare systems. Notably, the BARAK ER Air Defense System, developed by the firm, features a vertically launched interceptor missile with a range of up to 150 kilometers. The OPTSAT observation satellite offers high-resolution imagery for intelligence gathering, damage assessment, and threat detection. And the Multi-Mode Radar (MMR) is capable of simultaneously tracking hundreds of targets. The application demonstration of new technologies is a highlight of the Israeli exhibition area. The new hydrogen-powered UAV system displayed at the site can support various mission requirements. It consumes five times less energy than traditional batteries, enabling extended flight durations and continuous operation for approximately 10 hours with a maximum range of 1,000 kilometers. The AI-driven module it carries can enhance its autonomy and real-time decision-making capabilities. And the use of hydrogen power can reduce the thermal signature during flight, effectively enhancing the aircraft's stealth. Shotlist: Abu Dhabi, UAE - Recent: 1.
