A hulky merman wearing light blue fins impressed visitors at an aquarium in the Philippines.

Clark Zerrudo who has been swimming professionally as a merman for two years delighted a family as he performed for them at an ocean park in Cebu province on January 21.

Footage shows the merman with a muscular build gliding underwater amid a school of tuna fish. He did a backflip which caught the attention of the kids.

Clark then greeted them from behind the glass of the tank and did more poses for the tourists.

The merman said: 'We are happy to put smiles in the faces of both adults and children. We have three hours to perform for visitors at the Oceanarium.'

The swimmer said there were only a few mermen in the country compared to mermaids.

He added: 'I want to encourage those who are interested to give it a try. It is a fun and unique activity.'

Mermen are not commonly seen at ocean parks, but some parks and aquariums feature them. They are usually professional divers who wear mermaid tails and perform underwater shows for entertainment.
