China - February 21, 2025 New, super-fast robot dog in China can run 100 meters in under 10 seconds (Voice_over) A Chinese team of researchers have just unveiled a robotic dog that can run 100 meters in under ten seconds, or about 36 kilometers per hour. The Black Panter 2.0 weighs 38 kilos and is 63 centimeters high. It was developed by Hangzhou-based tech start-up Mirror Me, along with researchers from Zhejiang University (ZJU) . The team took their design cues from animals like black panthers and jerboas, the hopping desert rodents, to improve the robot’s strength, flexibility, and fluidity. The robot recently completed a treadmill test achieving 10.4 meters per second, but researchers hope to increase that number going forward. According to our statistics, for a land mammal weighing between 40 and 50 kilograms, its average running speed is approximately 15 meters per second.
