Terrifying footage of avalanche crashing down mountain in China before engulfing tourists
On February 20, an avalanche occurred in the Yubeng Scenic Area, located in the Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Yunnan Province. Tourists managed to capture the dramatic event on camera.
Footage shows a massive wave of snow cascading down from the mountain peak, engulfing the entire valley in moments. Panicked tourists can be heard screaming as they rush to seek shelter in wooden cabins and other safe areas.
According to scenic area staff, the avalanche took place in an undeveloped region and fortunately caused no casualties or property damage.
Yubeng, part of Meili Snow Mountain National Park, is known for its complex terrain and unpredictable climate. Heavy snowfall during winter makes it a high-risk area for avalanches.
