Los Angeles, United States - February 18, 2025 02/18/2025 02:41 am (GMT-0800) COVINA, Calif. – Los Angeles County Fire Department crews and Covina police officers responded to a fire at an abandoned apartment complex in the 500 block of East Rue Royale Street in the city of Covina. Once firefighters arrived on the scene, they located a large apartment complex with heavy smoke and fire showing from inside. Firefighters achieved knockdown within 30 to 45 minutes of the call. At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown. Covina PD and firefighters had responded to multiple calls at this location for fires due to homeless living inside the complex in the past. The LACoFD had an arson investigator en route to assist in investigating the cause of the fire.
