According to authorities, the incident began around 12:25 p.m. in the 7500 block of Lush Oasis Avenue, near Windmill Lane and Buffalo Drive. Police reported that the victim was working in the neighborhood when an individual approached and robbed them at knifepoint. The suspect then entered a nearby residence and refused to come out. In response, law enforcement classified the situation as a barricade incident, prompting the deployment of SWAT units and crisis negotiators. “This remains an active investigation,” police stated. “We urge the public to avoid the area due to a heavy police presence.” After multiple audible commands from law enforcement during a lengthy standoff, the subject eventually came down to the first floor, then exited the building with his hands up. No force was used upon apprehension of the subject, according to information at the scene.
