Thousands gathered today (Friday) for the funeral of 15-year-old Harvey Willgoose, who was fatally stabbed at school.

His coffin, in the red and white colours of Sheffield United FC, was taken to Sheffield Cathedral, where mourners wore club shirts and the choir sang 'Greasy Chip Butty.'

Harvey was stabbed at All Saints Catholic High School in Sheffield on February 3 and died in the ambulance.

His devastated family, including parents Caroline and Mark, attended the service, which was live-streamed outside.

A private burial followed at City Road Cemetery, with a wake at Beighton Miners Welfare Club.

His family called him a "beautiful boy" and "best friend to all," while his father urged attendees to respect wake rules."

A Change.org petition has been launched to tackle knife crime in schools.

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with murder and will stand trial on June 30 at Sheffield Crown Court.
