US, Los Angeles: Van Nuys LAPD Officers Involved In Crash During Pursuit Burglary Suspects Escape Part 1

Los Angeles, United States - February 21, 2025 02/21/2025 03:00 am (GMT-0800) VAN NUYS, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to a burglary in progress at a business located in the 15300 block of Sherman Way. According to the LAPD, officers on patrol spotted three to four suspects exiting a business, one carrying a burglary tool, which prompted a pursuit. The suspects led officers on a high-speed chase for approximately seven minutes before ending near Tampa on the 101 Freeway. During the chase, officers were involved in a traffic collision, and one officer was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, according to the LAPD. Despite the crash, the suspects managed to escape the scene and remain at large. The burglary suspects had broken into the business by shattering a glass door. An LAPD spokesperson told Key News Network that a report was filed confirming the business's burglary. At this time, what was stolen is unknown. The investigation is ongoing.
