Police Suspect crashes car in police chase, crashing into other driver. Causing car to overturn and set on fire.
Several people have been injured in a two-car crash in Station Road, Hednesford, after one of the cars was being pursued by police after it failed to stop for officers
The incident took place in Station Road in Hednesford shortly after 8pm on Saturday (February 22).
Officers from West Midlands Police pursued a car that failed to stop for them in Clarion Way in Cannock just after 8.10pm.
The car chase continued for around a mile-and-a-half before the pursued car crashed into another vehicle being driven by a member of the public, near to the Hednesford Valley Health Centre near the roundabout where Station Road meets Green Heath Road, Market Street and Cannock Road.
Police from Staffordshire and West Midlands, along with fire and ambulance crews attended the scene.
Three people in one car were injured along with the driver of the second car.
Staffordshire Police has said their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. The driver and two occupants in the first vehicle have been arrested. In a statement a spokesperson said: “We attended the scene of a collision in Hednesford on Saturday (22 February).
“Just after 8.10pm a vehicle failed to stop for our officers and colleagues from West Midlands Police, near to Clarion Way in Cannock.
“Following a short pursuit, it was involved in a collision with a car being driven by a member of the public on Station Road, Hednesford.
“West Midlands Ambulance Service and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service also attended the scene.The driver and two occupants in the first vehicle have been arrested.
