STORYLINE:

Chinese automobile assembly company Zonda Ghana Limited revealed new models with the Thursday launch of its eighth auto showroom in Ghana.

Managing director Yang Yang told Xinhua that the company was thriving largely due to the West African country's attractive and conducive business atmosphere.

Since its inception 18 years ago, Yang said that Zonda has established two vehicle assembly plants -- one dedicated to heavy-duty trucks and the other to light vehicles -- along with eight showrooms across the country.

"By doing business, by creating jobs, we make Ghana a better place."

Yang affirmed the company's commitment to advancing the country's automobile industry, which she predicted would benefit from the Ghanaian government's newly proposed 24-hour economy policy.

Simon Madjie, chief executive officer of the Ghana Investments Promotions Center (GIPC), hailed Zonda and other Chinese companies in Ghana for their great contributions to the nation's economic growth and stability.

Madjie said that GIPC would implement measures to process business permits for investors within 24 hours.

Rami Sefari, an Algerian investor in Ghana, said that Chinese auto brands have won over customers with their robustness, modernity, and affordability.
