"I'm a dopamine dresser - lilac makes me feel cute and flirty"
A stylist says she "dopamine dresses" and picks her outfits based on how she feels - opting for lilac to feel "cute" and bold colours if she is "grumpy"."
Kerry Jones, 40, has always loved colour and dressing to express herself.
Dopamine dressing is a fashion trend which involves wearing clothing that makes you feel good and confident - based on the idea outfits can affect your mood and happiness.
Kerry enjoys being experimental with her outfits and loves orange, yellow, red, pink and lilac.
She reaches for her boldest colours if she wakes up "grumpy", only wears black when she wants to be "sexy" and has a room with "thousands" of pieces of clothing in it. "
Kerry, a stylist and artist, from Manchester, UK, said: "It's very mood orientated."
"The actual process of getting dress alters my mood."
"Say I'm feeling a bit grumpy I put music on and play dress up."
"If I'm feeling low I would go for a bold rich tone."
"The bolder the better. It helps transform me to a bolder and better version of myself."
"Bright bold colours always feel better on gloomy days, be your own sunshine."
Kerry has always used fashion to express herself.
She said: "My mum has always been adamant I've known what I wanted to wear."
"When I wake up in the morning I get dressed and I think it is the best part of the day."
Kerry - who has a daughter, aged 16 - said she lost her identity shortly after becoming a mum and packed away her colourful clothes.
But a few months later she got it all out again - realising "I can be me"."
Now she has orange hair and doesn't shy away from any colour.
Kerry said: "Lilac makes me feel cute and flirty."
"Lilac feels like it's alternative sister [to pink] ."
"It's cute but not obvious."
"I don't really wear black unless I'm trying to be sexy."
"Yellow is a favourite colour of mine and a big mood booster."
"I love colour drenching."
Kerry finds lots of her clothes in charity shops - and has a room dedicated to them.
Her late grandma, Eilleen, 80, was her biggest "style icon" and made one her favourite items - a turquoise jumper with pastel pompoms on it."
She wants to encourage others to dopamine dress - and says you can start small.
Kerry said: "Wear some earrings or socks - they are a great way of adding colour without it being too imposing."
"If you think it looks good - it looks good."
Kerry also says getting dressed each day helps with her productivity.
She said: "When I'm working from home I still get dressed fully - if I don't I don't feel as productive and I'm a bit slobby."
"Getting dressed is a pleasure we should all feel uplifted by, it's our sacred moment of joy in the morning, have fun."
