A British tourist had his ATM card stolen by a prostitute in Thailand.

Andrew Harold Marshall had taken Kham Pakham, 54, to the Queen Victoria Inn in 'Sin City' Pattaya for a romp at around 12 noon on February 2.

However, Andrew had a post-coital nap while the Thai woman seized the chance and allegedly stole his ATM card. She was said to have withdrawn 40,000 THB (940 GBP) from his account across four different transactions.

Police launched an investigation after the furious tourist reported Kham to authorities. He said he had woken up in the room to find both her, his card, and his backpack containing his phone and other valuables, missing.

CCTV footage shows Kham - seen in the video wearing a low-cut black top and red shorts - ordering food with Andrew at a restaurant. The two were seen holding hands as they ascended up the stairs.

Another security camera clip shows Kham later walking along the road alone several hours later.

Police detained Kham at a restaurant in the same city on February 20.

A Pattaya City Police spokesman said: 'We checked the suspect's criminal history and found that she had been involved in four other criminal cases in Pattaya, with three theft cases in 2019 and a gambling case in 2022.

'She had previously served time in jail for similar offences, but after she was released, she committed the same crimes.

‘We handed her over to the inquiry officer to proceed with legal action.'

During questioning, Kham claimed she had already spent all of the Brit's money 'on personal expenses'.

She was charged with theft and unauthorised use of another person's electronic card.

Under Section 334 of the Thai Criminal Code, those who commit theft may be punished with up to three years in prison and a fine of up to 6,000 THB (140 GBP).

Police Major General Thawatchakiat Jindakhuansanong, chief of the provincial police, said: 'The police take crimes against tourists seriously. We will continue to diligently work to maintain safety in Pattaya's tourist areas.'

The disturbing incident is the latest issue with tourists in the bustling coastal city, where round-the-clock sex workers cater to holidaymakers.

Government chiefs have attempted to clean up the city but regular violence and depravity continue to blight its reputation.
