A stranded French hiker was rescued from the highest peak in Spain.

The GREIM mountain rescue team from Benasque, with the Huesca Air Unit, saved the 34-year-old mountaineer trapped between the Mahoma Pass and Pico Aneto on February 21.

Footage shows the dramatic rescue operation in the snow-covered mountains, with emergency responders aiding the distressed individual.

The climber was safely evacuated and airlifted to the La Renclusa Refuge.

Authorities remind outdoor enthusiasts to stay alert and adhere to safety guidelines when navigating challenging environments to help reduce the risk of accidents.
