This is the amusing moment a cat was spotted chilling on top of an ice cream fridge.

Lek, a three-year-old Suphalak-Siamese mix, sprawled out on the cool glass surface, seeking relief from the 33 degrees Celsius heat in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand, on February 15.

Footage captured by Jomjaem Paveenuch shows the furry creature sleeping next to the handle of the freezer.

A little girl then slid the door open, but the unfazed animal did not move, continuing to nestle on top of the machine.

The cat's owner said: 'It became its hangout place mostly during the summer.'

Cats tend to lie on cold surfaces because they use them to regulate their body temperature, especially during hot weather, as they cannot sweat like humans do.
