At around 8:32 am on 23rd February, a landslide occurred on a rural road in Qianwei County, Leshan City, Sichuan Province. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.

CCTV footage captured the moment massive boulders tumbled down the hillside, sending clouds of dust into the air and completely blocking the road. A street cleaner and a pedestrian happened to be passing by but quickly noticed the danger and ran to safety, narrowly avoiding being hit by the falling rocks.

Following the landslide, local authorities implemented traffic control measures in the area to prevent secondary disasters.

Reports indicate that the region had experienced continuous rainfall for several days before the incident, causing excessive water infiltration, which saturated the soil, increased its weight, and weakened the mountain’s stability, ultimately triggering the collapse.
