Phoenix, United States - February 23, 2025 02/23/2025 06:10 am (GMT-0700) PHOENIX, Ariz. – Phoenix Police and Phoenix Fire crews responded to reports of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision at the intersection of 35th Avenue and Roosevelt Street shortly after 6:00 a.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found an unresponsive pedestrian in the northbound curb lane of 35th Avenue, north of Roosevelt. The driver that struck the pedestrian remained at the scene and parked their vehicle on the northwest corner of the intersection, outside the Circle K. The unidentified pedestrian was transported to a local trauma center in critical condition. A hard closure has been established for 35th Avenue, stretching between Garfield Street and Portland Streets. The estimated duration of the closure was yet to be confirmed. Patrol units were standing by, waiting for an update from hospital staff. The update will determine whether patrol units of Vehicular Crimes Unit detectives will handle the investigation.
