This is the nerve-wracking moment a Komodo dragon rampaged through a family's kitchen in Indonesia.

Homeowner Yotam witnessed the giant lizard entering his house in West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara on November 3.

Footage shows the reptile wandering around the room and sniffing the gas canisters on the ground, seemingly looking for something to eat.

Yotam said: 'We were terrified because it just suddenly came into our home, but it didn't harm us, and it was just looking for food.'

Komodo dragons are the largest living lizards, with males reaching lengths of up to 10 ft (3 m) and weighing up to 200 lbs (90 kgs). They have a varied diet, including deer, wild boar, water buffalo, and occasionally, even smaller Komodo dragons.

The reptiles are aggressive when threatened and have a venomous bite which sometimes carries harmful bacteria. The Godzilla-like reptiles are also a protected species in the country, so their population thrives.
