Thousands of fighter jets were seen parked in a mass aeroplane graveyard in the Arizona desert.

Incredible footage shows nearly 5,000 retired military aircraft spread across the 2,600 acres of Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson.

The 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group—commonly known as 'The Boneyard'—serves as a site for preserving these decommissioned warplanes, many of which have reached the end of their operational service.

Crews work to preserve the planes' parts for potential reuse, assist in maintaining active fleets, and carry out depot-level maintenance on select aircraft to extend their service life.
