Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - February 24, 2025 A promotion event for the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) was held in Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia on Monday, gathering nearly 200 representatives from government and business sector from China and Malaysia. Many attendees of the event expressed their confidence that the upcoming CIIE, which is scheduled for November in Shanghai, will bring more development opportunities for the host country and Malaysia, and for other member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The Chinese representative at the event said that preparations for the 8th CIIE are progressing steadily, with over 220,000 square meters of exhibition zone already contracted, fully showing the confidence and enthusiasm of all parties in China's economic development and the import expo. The representative also said that the China International Import Expo Bureau will continue to strengthen cooperation with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (the National Trade Promotion Agency of Malaysia), the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia, and other organizations, to help more local businesses, especially small and medium-sized ones, participate in the expo. Since its launch in 2018, the CIIE has facilitated intended transaction volume exceeding 500 billion U.S. dollars. As the world's first national-level exhibition dedicated to imports, it has hosted more than 10,000 foreign companies from over 180 countries and regions.
