Bakersfield, United States - February 24, 2025 02/24/2025 03:40 am (GMT-0800) BAKERSFIELD, Cailf. – At approximately 3:40 a.m. Monday, Bakersfield and Kern County Fire Departments dispatched for a reinforced commercial structure fire for reports of a church on fire off East Brundage and Madison Street. The first engine on the scene advised that heavy smoke and flames were visible. The Bakersfield Police Department was called to assist regarding an unknown male walking around who may have been involved in the fire. The Bakersfield FD Arson unit was dispatched to the incident. A reporting person on the scene advised that this church wasn't abandoned, and they just had services this past weekend. The Kingdom ˔ Grace Ministries International posted about the incident on their Facebook page, informing their followers of the fire. They stated that even though this unfortunate event is hard, "we remain steadfast and committed to our service to our LORD and SAVIOR." They thanked everyone for their words of encouragement, support and prayers. They are looking for another building to house their services and would appreciate any leads that can be shared with them. The investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
