Los Angeles, United States - February 24, 2025 02/24/2025 01:15 am (GMT-0800) DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, Calif.– The Los Angeles Police Department's Newton Division units responded to reports of a commercial burglary in progress in the 1500 block of Newton Street. When officers arrived, they spotted two possibly armed males running into a business. The business owner told police an employee might also have been inside the business while the suspects were inside. Officers made several commands for the suspects to exit to no avail. LAPD's SWAT and K-9 responded to the scene to clear the building. SWAT entered the building and began clearing rooms until they made contact with two uncooperative suspects inside a room. Flashbangs were deployed, and the two suspects were taken into custody without further incident at approximately 3:30 a.m. Officers also observed a black Mercedes parked out front with burglary tools inside. There are no further details at this time.
