This is the terrifying moment wildebeest charged at a safari shuttle bus in China.

Holidaymaker Oscar Hemp and his friends visited Chimelong Safari Park to watch a herd of gnus up close in Guangzhou, Guangdong, on February 22.

However, the hoofed animals nearly collided with the passing vehicle as they galloped through the area.

Footage shows the four-wheeler accelerating away, narrowly dodging the wildebeest.

The filmer said: 'It was a thrilling encounter. I thought they would collide with the shuttle, but we're glad the driver managed to move just in time.'

On April 10, at the same safari park, a wildebeest crashed into a vehicle carrying frightened tourists, nearly injuring them upon impact. Park staff reportedly compensated the holidaymakers involved in the incident.

Wildebeest are highly social animals and prefer to stay in large herds. Running together helps maintain group cohesion and ensures the herd's safety. They may also run for exercise and stimulation, keeping them physically fit and mentally alert—both crucial for their overall well-being.
