A Belt and Road industrial talent training and employment matchmaking event was held Monday at Huaqiao University in east China's Fujian Province.

Over 50 students from Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and other Southeast Asian countries participated in the session.

The event provided practical training and career opportunities for the students while helping to meet the employment needs of Chinese-funded enterprises in Belt and Road countries.

The students said that they look forward to increasing their skills through internships and training.

SOUNDBITE 1 (English): TEOH PIK JOE, International student from Malaysia
"Through events like this, I can get in touch with some experienced professionals and learn from their experiences and valuable insights. It provides students with an opportunity to directly engage with companies, helping us better understand industry needs and job market trends so that we can better plan our career development and prepare for further job searches. I believe it will be helpful for my further development in Malaysia and help me apply what I've learned in China to support economic ties between the two countries."

SOUNDBITE 2 (English): LEONY AUGUSTINE, International student from Indonesia
"I think the training is very helpful for us, especially students studying abroad. It let me know the skills that I need in my future. I hope I can work in Chinese companies in Indonesia. I believe that (the) Chinese language is really important now in Indonesia because there are many industries in Indonesia that come from China."
