On 20th February, a dramatic incident took place at a junction in Changzhou, Jiangsu. An 80-year-old man in an electric wheelchair accidentally entered the flow of traffic, moving into the blind spot of a stationary lorry waiting at a red light. When the light turned green, the lorry began moving forward, unknowingly pushing the elderly man along with it, creating an extremely dangerous situation.

At that critical moment, a passerby wearing a yellow jacket spotted the danger while riding his motorbike. Without hesitation, he swiftly turned around and chased after the lorry, persistently honking his horn to alert the driver. Thanks to his quick actions, the lorry driver finally noticed the danger and brought the vehicle to an emergency stop after driving several hundred metres, successfully preventing a tragedy.

The good Samaritan, later identified as Yuan Jianlong, an employee at a local gas company, rushed to check on the elderly man and called his family. Only after ensuring the man was safely reunited with his loved ones did he quietly leave the scene.

Authorities later recognised Yuan Jianlong’s bravery, with the Changzhou Economic Development Zone's Brave Action Foundation awarding him for his heroic deed.
