Two workers were buried alive by a landslide at a pipeline site in Thailand.

Three builders were laying down drainage pipes when the huge pile of soil they had excavated slid down on top of them at the construction site in Nakhon Ratchasima province, on February 26 evening.

Rescue volunteers, medics, and police arrived at the scene after receiving a report at 6:30 pm.

Footage shows the officers digging up the earth to collect the buried workers. Two of them, Kamol Nakudnok, 57, Chawalit Dao-on, 70, were found dead.

The third worker, Prakit Rattanadon, 62, was alive but suffered serious injuries. He was rushed to the Pak Thong Chai Hospital for treatment.

Police Colonel Boonprod Prasertsak of the district police said: ‘We sent both of the deceased to the Pak Thong Chai Hospital for a post-mortem exam to determine the cause of deaths.

‘The survivor was severely injured. He was transferred to the Suranaree University of Technology Hospital and is now safe.

‘We will summon the construction contractor for questioning to proceed with legal action.'
