Python saved from high-voltage power lines in Bangkok
A reticulated python was rescued from high-voltage power lines in Bangkok.
Locals discovered the 13ft (4m), 44 lbs (20kg) snake slithering along an electric cable at Soi Pracha Uthit 33 Yeak 4 on February 26.
Concerned residents called the Thung Khru Fire Station to retrieve the animal, which was stranded 33 ft (10 m) in the air, fearing it might be electrocuted and could cause a short circuit or fire.
Footage shows rescuers and electricity personnel aboard a fire truck, using long bamboo sticks to coax the serpent down.
Moments later, the python, which had slithered onto one of the rods, lost its grip and fell onto the vehicle.
The rescuers then positioned the pole beside the coiled reptile, allowing officials to carefully secure it before placing it into a sack.
The animal reportedly did not sustain any injuries from the incident.
It was then transported by motorcycle and handed over to the fire department to be released back into the forest, away from residential areas.
