STORYLINE:
The construction of a fine chemicals and raw materials project of Huajin Aramco Petrochemical Company (HAPCO), a joint investment by Saudi Aramco and its Chinese partners, has achieved a breakthrough in Panjin City, northeast China's Liaoning Province.
The 4,366-tonne raffinate tower of aromatics complex, the largest single facility of the major chemical project, completed its installation on Wednesday.
With a total investment of 83.7 billion yuan (about 11.52 billion U.S. dollars), fine chemicals and raw materials project of HAPCO kicked off in March 2023 and has finished nearly 60 percent of its construction work.
The project, which covers 8.97 square kilometers, is expected to become a world-class petrochemical and fine chemical industry base.
