Valladolid, Spain - February 27, 2025 Thanks to the collaboration of local citizens, agents of the Spanish Civil Guard heroically rescued a 78-year-old woman who had fallen into the frigid waters of the Pisuerga River. The dramatic operation unfolded under challenging conditions, with the rugged terrain posing a significant obstacle for the rescuers. Undeterred, the agents braved the elements, reaching the woman and ensuring her safety until firefighters and medical personnel arrived. The elderly woman, found disoriented and suffering from hypothermia and exhaustion, was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Her condition, while serious, stabilized after receiving medical attention. The rescue, however, came at a cost. Two Civil Guard agents sustained injuries and faced hypothermia due to the treacherous operation. They were taken to Valladolid Hospital, where they are now recovering and reported to be out of danger. The selfless efforts of the Civil Guard, supported by the community’s quick response, turned a potential tragedy into a story of survival against the odds.
